What is the main difference between natural diamonds and lab-grown diamonds?

Ankit Panchani|

Natural diamonds take billions of years to form deep inside the earth under intense heat and pressure. They have inclusions in them, which are unique because of their long time of formation. Natural diamonds are mined from the earth.

Lab-created diamonds, alternatively known as lab-grown diamonds, are produced by advanced labs using high pressure & high temperature (HPHT) techniques or chemical vapor deposition (CVD) processes that simulate natural processes of growing diamonds. They possess the same characteristics as natural diamonds.

The main distinction here is based on their origin and rarity. Natural diamonds come with a certain level of rarity, and it is prized for their natural occurrence. Lab diamonds, on the other hand, are quite expensive, accessible, and a very modern source for diamond lovers.

Both types have very good brilliance and durability, but it all comes down to personal preference, price, and the sentimental value of the rarity that comes along naturally.
